    • Here, you will go back in time through a fun and interactive scenography. Don't miss the virtual reconstruction film before setting off to explore a district of the ancient city of Elusa and one of its rich residences: the Domus de Cieutat. With a surface area of 2700 m² in the 4th century AD, it was a reception and ceremonial venue for a local notable.

The Domus de Cieutat & the ELUSA Interpretation Centre are part of ELUSA Ancient Capital. An unmissable and unique set of 3 exceptional sites : young and old are invited to come and discover the secret of the aristocratic residences, within the territory of the ancient city of Elusa. The Domus de Cieutat (urban house) offers an essential complement to the visit of the Villa de Séviac (country house) , while the rich collections of the Archaeological Museum/The Treasure of Eauze (Museum of France) illustrate its refinement.

To begin your visit, go to the ELUSA Ancient Capital interpretation center at the Domus de Cieutat. Gateway to Elusa's heritage, this space will allow you to discover the scale of the ancient city through a modern and playful scenography.

Ruins of a Roman Domus or town house. The ruins are extensive but there is relatively little to see today except for some walls and foundation. There is a scale model and a CGI documentary to help the modern visitor visualize it. I believe they recently found a mosaic there but it is not accessible to the public at present. There is an interpretive center and gift shop on site.

For lovers of Roman history, a villa freed from the layers of time explained by very well-designed information panels. A little detour after visiting the museum in town! New visit in October 2024, still superb and with attentive and very friendly staff

The exhibition (inside the old rail station) is OK but the actual Domus (excavated villa) seemed to be more about the impressive architecture of the cover. Nothing about the rooms or people to bring...
