    • Château Arton Haut-Armagnac in the Gers

Owner Harvesting since 1991, in biodynamic and permaculture conversion.

      Armagnac is not a brandy

It stands out in the spirits landscape because it keeps the wine alive from which it comes. Its exquisite taste expresses all the aromatic power of the terroir. Our white lands from Haut-Armagnac AOC give our Armagnacs a unique mineral flavor which reveals aromas of flowers and fruits, an aromatic palette with perfect balance.

This originality led Patrick de Montal to plant his vines to mature his wine and his Armagnac and to consider the vintage published as a "unique piece" as the most accomplished expression. At Arton, we have dedicated ourselves to crafting the purest and most exceptional expressions of Armagnac. Everything, from the vines to the wine, from the wine to the Armagnac, must be produced on the estate and in such a way as to best embody the terroir and know-how of Arton. Expert in vintages and unique pieces, Château Arton is also the cradle of the first white Armagnac , created in 1986.

After more than forty years spent developing a demanding and innovative wine culture, Patrick and Victoire de Montal have managed to give their Gers estate its letters of nobility. From the creation of Fine Blanche® to the development of vintages of Armagnac published as unique pieces, they have never stopped defying prejudices, succeeding in the challenge of raising their Haut-Armagnac to the rank of best eau-de-French life in 2017 !

It is this exceptional story that their children Jean and Lili de Montal decided to continue by moving to the estate. Leaving Paris in turn, they bring a new ambition, a bold environmental initiative and a major institutional and cultural project.

Like every year, I was with my friends at the estate's Open Days on Sunday December 1, 2024. And each time it is a new friendly and warm experience, a simple and attentive welcome around the productions of Château Arton, anchored in the terroir. and knowing how to forge strong links with all the artisan producers from the Culinary College present. Thanks to Victoire and Patrick, thanks to Jean and Lilli, to all the loved ones who surround them and to whom we feel surprisingly close. A real family!
