Domaine de Nazère : A gourmet restaurant & charming guest bedrooms in the heart of Gers

Between Fleurance and Lectoure, discover the Domaine de Nazère. A magical and unusual place located in the countryside in the heart of the Gers. This 18 hectares (44.5 acres) estate was created by Antoine and Valérie Cournot, in the Domaine de Nazère you can either go for lunch or diner in the delicious gourmet restaurant offering a fine, delicate and delicious cuisine, fully prepared with fresh products ; or if you fancy a weekend or holiday, and some relaxing time why not stay in one of the beautiful guest bedrooms, tastefully decorated with great attention to detail by Valérie ? Either for a family stay or between friends, there is also a beautiful 8 person gîte available.

The Domaine de Nazère restaurant : a table with a view

The restaurant of the Domaine de Nazère is open to all. You can go every day except on Monday, from May to October and also during low season (check opening times on their website). Respectful of the produce, the chef Philippe Miard offers an audacious cuisine. Here, everything is homemade, from the appetizers to the miniature desserts. The menu, which changes regularly, offers gourmets the opportunity to taste the local products, from Lomagne, Gers and the southwest.

When the weather does not permit dining outside facing the breathtaking view with the tower bell of the Saint-Clar village in the distance, a large bright indoor dining room welcomes you. The tables are decorated with seasonal flowers and a charming and elegant sculpture, in a shape of a coloured chick. Interior decoration enthusiasts will enjoy the great taste with which each room has been dressed. Table linen and silkscreen knives, precious wooden furniture, the whole setting has a lot of charm and is an invitation to graceful and sober luxury…

In your plate, each dish is flattered by many surprising happy combinations thanks to the aromatic and fresh herbs, from the tender and juicy meat to the colourful vegetables, perfectly cooked… The whole is seasoned by the finest oils and condiments. I enjoyed my diner : a crunchy starter of green and wild asparagus, accompanied by a light and tangy mousse. A second starter is brought to me ; it is a curious and sophisticated transparent ravioli, revealing a light coconut preparation, homemade mayonnaise and cucumbers. For the main course, a cut of meat with a Tarbais bean purée and quenelle of rocket pesto was delicious with a melting and aromatic sauce. For dessert, a delivery of freshly picked and juicy strawberries was the occasion to taste a superb plate composed of coconut custard cream on crusty biscuits, slices of strawberry jelly and chunks of Mara des bois (a variety of strawberry).

One single estate and 1,000 reasons to stay there : the guest bedrooms and the gite

If you fancy a peaceful and perfect holiday, take few days off at the Domaine de Nazère. 5 guest bedrooms invite you to relax, each with a unique decoration. They are in fact, a small apartment, with a living room and a bedroom with a fully equipped ensuite. The soft bedding is only matched by the luxury and comfort of the bathroom (hot tub)… The « Japon » suite even offers a private hot tub on the terrace…

On the 18 hectares domain, you have the choice to wander, discover the Gers countryside in all its glory or have a look at the vegetable garden, located near the chicken house where the farmyard animals greet you. Athletes can enjoy a game of tennis followed by relaxing in a sun lounger around the beautiful swimming pool (covered and heated during the low season). Wooden garden furniture, a large cast iron table, braseros and benches spread in the park in the shade of the century old trees, invite you to kickback and appreciate the time. Take a book and relax !

In the evening, Antoine invites you to his bar, with collection of Gin (more than 40 bottles) will impress and delight the spirit enthusiasts, as well as other cocktails from the simplest to the most sophisticated one. On the outdoor sofas or in the cosy living room with leather armchairs, you can enjoy the friendly late evenings.
