The most beautiful ph ...

The Gers is a natural and authentic region, where it is good to live and relax. It is a vacation spot, ideal for slow tourism. You will appreciate taking the time to pose your camera, to immortalize these good moments of dolce vita. Between the hilly landscapes of the Gers wine region, the balcony over the Pyrenees and the rural and agricultural lands of the Portes de la Gascogne, there is no shortage of beautiful images for amateur photographers. Let's go for a photo road-trip in the heart of the Gers.

Mystical or angelic photo à la Romieu

La Romieu is an important site on the Routes of Santiago de Compostela, where pilgrims can gather at the Collegiate Church of Saint-Pierre. This magnificent religious building is one of the must-sees in a Gers souvenir album. But this medieval town has more than one trick up its sleeve. A walk in the village is a must in the footsteps of the legend of Angeline and these cats... Unexpected and unusual photos are on the agenda!

Lectoure, an ode to medieval art and architecture

Lectoure is a "City of art and history" and it is not surprising, since it contains within its walls nearly forty monuments from the Middle Ages . At dusk, you will discover splendid views of the illuminated buildings of the city. To contrast with these games of light, go to the Ferme des Étoiles, one of the 8 best sites in the world to admire the stars, according to the Guide du Routard.

Eauze, between Roman art and modern art

Eauze is an ancient ancient city, Elusa. It is also considered the capital of Armagnac since the Middle Ages. But it's also an amazing open-air gallery of modern works! Indeed, graffiti decorates some streets of the city. In addition, the city is very cheerful and has a sense of humor. It thus hosts a “Roman Gallop Festival”, a comic strip festival during the summer and parties throughout the year. Suffice to say that you will not be disappointed by the images you will take there. It's up to you to find them...

Photo report in time in Larressingle

A visit to Larressingle is a real journey through time. The heritage of the village is really worth the detour, with its surrounding walls, its towers and curtain walls, its 13th century castle and its entrance gates, worthy of a great city of the Middle Ages... It is even nicknamed the "Little Carcassonne of the Gers". To extend your family outing, during the summer it hosts a reconstruction of a medieval siege camp! Enough to take photos of extraordinary shows.

Dominant view of the Lomagne Valley, from Lavardens

Lavardens is a former “Castelnau” from the Lomagne Valley. It has passed from hand to hand and suffered the ravages of time. Fortunately, its story ends well because the village has kept its carrelots and its castle has been restored. It was finally ranked among the "most beautiful villages in France" and its fortress was transformed into an art centre, with temporary exhibitions on a wide variety of themes. There is enough to satisfy your tourist and photographic curiosity!

Unprecedented meeting with d'Artagnan

Do you like cloak and dagger novels and unusual shots? You have to go to Condom to take a picture with Alexandre Dumas' hero… or to Lupiac to enter the museum dedicated to him. Don't forget that you are on the "Balcon nature des Pyrénées", the view of the Pyrenees mountains will not fail to titillate your photographer's gaze either...

Perspective on the half-timbering of Sarrant

Sarrant is an old medieval town, very interesting at the cultural level. This typical bastide of the Gers is really charming, with cobbled streets and well-preserved monuments. This is why it is one of the "most beautiful villages in France". You will take classic photos, but with beautiful perspectives on the curved lines of these streets, dotted with half-timbered and half-timbered buildings.

Fourcès, a bastide in the heart of the Gers countryside

Fourcès is the only bastide in the Gers built on a circular plan. It offers many photographic aspects, with its arboretum, its medieval monuments and its viewpoints over the Auzoue river. The bridge at the entrance to the town, which spans the river, is particularly remarkable: a good photo spot combining rural decor and medieval architecture.

Mauvezin from the upper town to the lower town, from heaven to earth

Mauvezin is a perched village, but it has the advantage of having two facets. The lower town is the economic heart, in connection with the land and the agricultural activity and the breeding of the goose mainly. The upper town is that of the castellan and the nobility. From its magnificent castle, you will appreciate the view which stretches out over the valley in the distance. There really is something to satisfy all your photographic desires.
