The most beautiful vi ...

The Gers is full of charming towns, medieval villages, bastides…, scattered in the countryside, on its green hills. We will not be able to name them all but here is an overview of the most remarkable sites. No order of interest, we will simply follow a discovery trail through the different territories of the Gers.

Lavardens

In the heart of the Gers, the Bastide de Lavardens is a very small medieval village. The stroll in its alleys allows to admire old stalls, transformed into houses and a pretty church. Are you tempted? Here is our report (fr).

Today, Château de Lavardens is an art center where exhibitions and concerts take place. You can also take a musical tour. Exhibitions vary regularly, check the program on their website.

Very close to Lavardens, Le Moulin des Marionnettes will capture children's attention: show, workshop, treasure hunt and even a space to create puppets...

Sarrant

At the gates of Gascony, the bastide of Sarrant has an originality: its snail shape. Its alleys are wrapped around its church. This village is a witness to the wars of religion: its church which was partially destroyed and rebuilt at that time, its half-timbered and mud houses, perfectly restored, its front door, pierced in a square tower, and its garden of medieval inspiration.

Want to rest before continuing? Between June and September, the 5* Lac des 3 Vallées campsite in Lectoure welcomes you on a vast 100-hectare site in the hollow of the hills, surrounded by beautiful valleys, lakes and meadows. The rentals for 2/4 people or for 6/8 people are real cozy cocoons fully equipped, ideal for meeting up with friends or family in the pretty Gers region. Bare pitches are also available for vacationers who prefer to sleep in a tent, caravan or camper van, with a surface area of 80 to 130m2. At the heart of this real holiday village, several catering outlets allow you to taste the specialties, before having fun on the 3,000 m2 of leisure and on the water. la Romieu

The legend of Angeline inspired the inhabitants and the village is adorned with cats in all forms. A "feline" treasure hunt is sure to please children. La Romieu is also known for its collegiate church.

Montreal-du-Gers

Montreal-du-Gers has a Gallo-Roman origin. This bastide was built on a former oppidum. Moreover, certain sites are considered to be part of Elusa, the ancient capital, in particular the arenas or the Villa Séviac. Then, in the Middle Ages, in the midst of the 100 Years War, it will be torn several times between France and England.

Nearby, in Eauze, the archaeological interpretation center immerses you in the daily life of a Gallo-Roman. You will discover a domus, a place of reception, at the cutting edge of technology of the time! Treasure hunt and visit of the treasure with a torch, storytelling in the museum, night walks, creation workshops… Here is our report and to know all the news of the museum: elusa.fr

On what is called "The nature balcony of the Pyrenees", Lupiac is the birthplace of the famous d'Artagnan.

To visit of course: the Musée d'Artagnan (fr) transports you between the real life of a musketeer of the Sun King and the fictionalized version of Alexandre Dumas.

Near Lupiac, a beautiful leisure center will allow you to enjoy a moment of relaxation or games with the family.
